The Duke of York visits the North West
The Duke of York visited the North West on 7th October, 2011 and undertook visits to Teledyne CML, Daresbury Innovation Centre, TTE and Jodrell Bank.
His Royal Highness is a regular visitor to the North West and the visit included a range of innovative and driven companies, as well as showcasing a number of leading apprenticeship and skills programmes.
Teledyne CML is a leading manufacturing and engineering company based on the Wirral. It has recently opened brand new facilities in the UK, driving forward their high-tech manufacturing capabilities. The Duke of York received an update on the recent progress of the Company and officially opened the new Teledyne CML composites division.
His Royal Highness is Patron of the Daresbury Innovation Centre, a world leading science and business development facility. During his visit, The Duke of York was introduced to some of the fastest growing scientific SMEs based on the site and opened Vanguard House, a new office and laboratory development on the campus.
His Royal Highness also visited Training Tomorrow’s Engineers an advanced apprenticeship training body which supports and helps develop the skills of the students within the North West.
The Duke of York later visited Jodrell Bank Observatory. The visit to Jodrell Bank was an opportunity to see some of the excellent work being undertaken in the field of astrophysics.
