In 2008 The Duke of York undertook 628 official engagements

This included 529 engagements in his capacity as Special Representative for International Trade and Investment

As Special Representative, The Duke undertook 152 visits, meetings or calls in the United Kingdom and 377 overseas

The total number of business-related engagements undertaken in 2008 represents a 50% increase from 2007 and a doubling from 2005

His Royal Highness carried out 14 away days in the UK during 2008, to locations including Inverness, South Wales, Oxford, Cambridge, Cornwall, Northern Ireland, North and West Yorkshire, Merseyside and Manchester

The Duke has visited or been briefed by more than 350 British companies and associations, both in the UK and overseas, including a wide range of SMEs and FTSE companies. The Duke has delivered more than 60 major speeches on trade issues

The Duke of York was in 2008 the co-Chair of the World Economic Forum for the Middle East and has since 2007 attended annually the WEF in Davos
